| Beer Pong Tournament |
[Apr. 27th, 2009|03:39 pm]
|
|
This Thursday, April 30th at 6:00 p.m., Competition Unlimited is hosting the first Beer Pong tournament in the state of Texas. First Place has the option of cash or an entry to the World Series of Beer Pong in Las Vegas. (That’s 4 nights for both players at the Flamingo as well as a chance at the first prize of $50,000!) The tournament is Double Elimination, teams of two. Entry is $40 per team, payable at http://www.CompUnlimited.com/zencart. There is a 32 team limit, so register quickly! The WSOBP rules we will use are available at http://www.WSOBP.com. Due to TABC regulations, we will be playing with water cups, but that also means that 18-20 year olds can play. G-Cue charges a $5 cover for under 21. G-Cue Billiards is located at 300 Hesters Crossing (Round Rock). Contact Matt Stephans at Matt@CompUnlimited.com or 512.947.6288 with any questions. |

Real Ale's marketing rep says that the Sisyphus 2008 is only 350 cases. It tastes close to last year's which is decent but I'm going to need another taste to make up my mind. |

Texas house bill 1062/SB 754, if passed will allow microbrewers to sell their product on the premises of the brewery. Such sales are currently allowed for winemakers, but not for brewers.
Send E-mail/letter, or phone to your Texas state Rep and Senator to support passage of HB 1062/SB 754. Find out who represents you here.
Here's some quick and easy text:
[Rep name]... as Representative for my district, I'm writing you this short note to request your support for House Bill 1062, written by Rep Lon Burnam, and is essentially a Texas Brewers Parity Ammendment (i.e. allowing specific holders of brewer's permits to sell ale and malt liquor from their premises). Allowing this avenue to Texas brewers opens considerable opportunities for our state; including the development of more breweries, which leads to job-creation, as well as continued sustainability and growth of those existing breweries, both important for continued economic growth. I've been to states where this is already being done (such as California and Colorado), and it is amazing what this one simple allowance is able to create from a market and culture perspective. Please support this bill; and/or please tell me how I can further support its passing.
Yours truly,
[Your Name] |
